Adrian Lee placed 26th in Men’s Foil B on Tuesday. He defeated Imreh HUN in the pool and was knocked out by Le Monnier FRA 10-6 in the L32.


Fencing in Women’s Épée B on Wednesday, Lorette Laschetti got off to a stellar start in the pools with victories over Jansen GER, Parpaiola ITA, Muralt SUI and Uff GBR. Laschetti encountered Jansen GER once again in the L32, but this time lost 10-6. She placed 18th overall.

Men’s Épée A took place on Saturday. Victories over Bilani BEL, Valkovic CZE and Javens AUS bought a bye through the first round for Grant Anderton. He knocked out Schueler SUI in the L64, progressing to face 4th seed Van Den Berg NED. Anderton beat his seeding to reach the L16, where he drew Magni ITA.

Dublin-based Yves Carnec also fenced in the Men’s Épée A, representing his native France. Carnec, who acts as épée mentor for the IFF, was undefeated in the pool and seeded 6th. He knocked out Balcazar ESP in the L64 but was upset in the L32 by Pevzner RUS, and placed 18th overall.
