Congratulations to David Alexander, who took gold in Men’s Foil at the Merseyside Open today, retaining his title for a third year. Conor Nagle (Pembroke) was knocked out by the eventual silver medallist in the L16 and placed 14th overall. Fellow Pembroke foilists Phillip Cripwell and John Wyatt both reached the L32 while DUFC fencers Blaise Delaney, Fearghal Donaghy and Achilleas Floudas went out in the L64.

Crystal-Rose Percival (DUFC) placed 24th in Women’s Sabre.
