The Men’s Foilists fenced at the Leon Paul Cup satellite at London’s Sportsdock today. All four qualified through the first-round cut, which slimmed down a field of 196 to just 141.

The best placing came from David Alexander (Nottingham Cavaliers), who defeated Goh SIN, Hassan EGY, Corlett GBR, and Kozak CAN in the pool and went on to knock out Chan SIN 15-13 in the L128. He met world number 19 Choupenitch CZE and was eliminated, placing 54th.

Brendan Cusack (Empire United) finished in 85th place, defeating De Bazalaire POL, Yung HKG, Minott GBR and Li CAN in the pool but losing 15-14 to Rai GBR in the L128.

Conor Nagle was V3D3 in the pool with victories over Ridsdale GBR, Ewers SWE, Choi HKG. He was defeated by Maci ITA in the L128 and placed 117th.

Victories over Rosowsky GBR and Hemeng GHA earned Phillip Cripwell (DUFC) a place in the tableau but no bye into the L128. He went out 15-7 by Kongstad DEN in the L256, placing 140th overall.
