The Irish Fencing Federation is happy to announce that an official Irish coloured fencing mask has been registered with the FIE.

While this mas has been registered with the FIE, it is not an official part of the Irish uniform, thus is not mandatory to wear at FIE events and fencers with their current masks are still free to use them for future competitions. This new mask however is the only multi-coloured mask, which may be worn by irish fencers going forward.

The design of the mask is as follows – The three colours are the colours of the Irish national flag (Green, White and Orange) with the following colour codes

Colour Code
Green RAL 6018
White RAL 2884
Orange RAL 9010

In addition to the three colours, the mask requires that “IRL” be printed on the side of the mask (over the ears) with a letter height of 4.7cm in black ink. The fencers last name may be printed along the top of the mask, again 4.7cm in height in black ink.

The IFF would like to thank Lawrence Gough for his help in designing this mask in conjunction with Allstar International.
