The 2015 Five Nations tournament took place in Ulster University, hosted by NI Fencing.

England topped the table in all six weapons once again, but were denied a clean sweep by the NI Women’s Sabre team in a 45-43 upset. Overall placings were as follows:

1st England (23 victories)
2nd Scotland (13 victories)
3rd Northern Ireland (12 victories)
4th Wales (8 victories)
5th Ireland (5 victories)

The Ireland squad saw victories and tantalisingly narrow defeats across three weapons. Full match scores are listed below.

The combination of Cusack, Nagle, Cripwell and Wyatt proved highly effective in Men’s Foil as Ireland racked up three convincing victories to place second. The decisive match against England finished 43-45.

Our Men’s Épéeists suffered a 45-42 defeat by leaders England, while the Women’s Épée team lost to both Scotland and Wales by a single point in the closing seconds. Both the Men’s and Women’s sabre teams took a victory each, over NI and Wales respectively. The Men’s Sabre squad put in strong performances throughout the day, holding England and Wales to narrow margins.
