Victoria Duxbury got off to a stellar start at the World Cup in Gdansk. She defeated Daniel AUS, Rivero VEN, Lin HKG, and Sheppard GBR in the pool, finishing V4D2.

In a thrilling first-round match, Duxbury inflicted a 15-14 defeat on Kimberley Cheung HKG, who is ranked 80th in the world. She then faced Hungarian world #26 Gabriella Hopka-Varga for a place in the L64, but was knocked out 15-4.

In only her first competitive season as a senior, this marks Victoria’s best performance to date at World Cup level. She placed 81st of 169 fencers.
