Dear Fencer/Coach/Parent/Volunteer

If you are interested in coaching fencing, you are cordially invited to take part in the 3rd Level 1 Fencing Coach (all weapons) course developed by Irish Fencing, together with Coaching Ireland, which will run over three weekends in September/October 2013.

This course is intended for anyone who is already coaching beginner fencers in their club and wishes to add to their skills, and anyone who wishes to start coaching fencing. Although experience as a fencer is useful it is not a prerequisite for attendance or qualification.

Progression to Level 2 or further within the Irish Fencing Coach Development Programme is dependent on first having achieved Level 1. Further information about the course can be found at www.irishfencing.net

It is hoped that this course, and the development of the Irish Fencing Coaching Development Programme, will provide the basis for more fencing coaches qualified under the Coaching Ireland umbrella, and thence more fencers and better fencers within Ireland. It is intended to publish a list of Irish Fencing registered coaches on our website. Presentation of certificates to coaches who completed course in September 2010 will be made at Irish National Championships in April 2011.

If you would like to receive more information or have any questions at all about the course, please contact me (secretary @irishfencing.net).

Places will be limited. We should, therefore, appreciate receiving expressions of interest by Wednesday of next week, 2nd September 2013.

Yours sincerely

NUALA McGARRITY

Hon Sec, IFF
