The last FIE ranking event of the qualification season is taking place in Budapest, where a field of 281 épéeists included two Irishmen.

Both of our fencers concluded the pools V1D5, as Benedict Chambers (FFF) defeated Blekos GRE and Geoffrey Corcoran (QUB) scored a victory over Zmauc-Kvar SLO. Chambers placed 238th and Corcoran 264th, both falling afoul of a 30% first-round cut.

The Grand Prix continues across the weekend, and will be decisive in the individual lineups for Men’s and Women’s Épée at the Rio Olympics.
