For an 11th year, Fencing Ireland will play host to an FIE satellite in Men’s Épée. The 2017 edition takes place on Saturday 11 November during the Irish Open. Belgian Fencing held the Flemish Open sabre satellite on Sunday. Michalis Kirimlidis (Salle Dublin) recorded pool victories over Rapp GER, Redshaw GBR, Hoschna CZE and Bottecchia BEL. Paul Verdon (Stirling University) fenced at the Riga Junior World Cup on Saturday, placing 239th overall.  Tibor Andrasfi HUN reached the second JWC final of his career, taking gold for the first time ahead of reigning cadet world champion Davide de Veroli ITA. 133 fencers took part in the Hungarian Cup in Budapest this weekend, an open event ranked on the European U23 circuit, including two Dublin-based fencers.
