Fencing Ireland hosted the 2017 National Championships at Loreto Abbey Dalkey over 22-23 April. Over 100 entries were received across the weekend. The European Championships for U23s began this morning in Minsk, Belarus, with three Irish foilists taking to the piste. In the Team Men’s Épée, the Irish squad placed 34th after a first-round loss to Romania. Romania went on to cause further upset against Kazakhstan and Germany, reaching tomorrow’s quarter-finals.
The Irish Fencing League is holding its fourth annual ‘Elite 8’ gala final at St Conleth’s College, Clyde Road, Ballsbridge this evening.
