In a huge competition weekend, eight Irish fencers competed at the Welsh Open in Cardiff. Alföldy Foil: Duxbury places 11th at U23 event

Today Victoria Duxbury (Edinburgh FC) fenced at the Alföldy Foil in Budapest, which is accredited on the EFC U-23 circuit. Duxbury made a clean sweep in the pool, defeating Kreiss HUN, Budavari HUN, Valero-Collantes SWE, Matraszek CZE, Diczhazi HUN and Vacarasu ROU. England Fencing hosted the 2016 Five Nations at Manchester Fencing Centre, Oldham on Saturday 5 November.  The best result of the weekend came from our Women’s Épée team, who missed out on gold following a last-ditch foot-hit in priority.
